The Montvale Economic Development and Retention Committee
The committee, which was formulated by Mayor Mike Ghassali and is comprised of six residents who have extensive professional backgrounds in sales, finance and marketing, has been busy collecting financial data from various sources since its inception five months ago.
The committee’s ultimate aim, according to Chairman Raffi Joukhadarian, is to grow, retain and fulfill the needs of Montvale’s corporate tenants, while maintaining the integrity and character of the residential community
Raffi Joukhadarian – Chairman
Raffi Joukhadarian has been a resident of Montvale since 2000, residing with his wife and four children, ranging in age from 9 to 14, and attending Memorial, Fieldstone, and Pascack Hills High School.
A senior financial executive with extensive background in domestic and international business environments, Raffi has demonstrated accomplishments in strategic planning and analysis, M&A and business development, budgeting, forecasting and capital management. Currently the Head of Strategic Planning, Analysis and Performance Management at Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he was a Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Analysis at Citigroup, a Director of Finance and Strategy at New York Life Investments, a VP of Finance at Lehman Brothers, a Line of Business CFO at JP Morgan, a VP of Finance at Merrill Lynch.
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA in International Finance from St. John’s University, and an Executive Masters from Harvard University.
John Ryan – Vice Chairman
Resident of Montvale since 1998, where I reside with my wife and two children (students at Pascack Hills High School).
Over thirty years of experience in finance, accounting, lending and private investing. Currently a CFO for a publicly traded company and a Managing Director for a private investment company. Previously employed by GE Capital Corporation for twenty three years in the corporate and project finance lending industry. Prior to that employed at JP Morgan and Arthur Young and Company. CPA in the State of NY.
MBA in Finance and MS in Accounting from Stern School of Business at NYU and BS in Economics from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Community involvement includes eleven years as a coach and coordinator for the Montvale Athletic League and four years as a leader with the Montvale Cub Scouts.
Grew up in Park Ridge and lived in Bergen County since 1976, in Montvale since 2002, residing with wife and two sons (in Fieldstone and Memorial schools).

Since 2002, Chief Financial Officer for Jimcor Agency, Inc., an independent excess and surplus insurance managing general agent and wholesaler, headquartered in Montvale. Previously worked at KPMG, specializing in auditing manufacturing, retail and distribution industries. Subsequently served as controller for Turnberry Capital, a hedge fund in Greenwich, CT and also served as VP, Corporate Development of 24/7 Real Media, an internet advertising company.

My wife and I have been residence of Montvale since 1993. I worked for Benjamin Moore & Co. For 35 years. While at Benjamin Moore I served as East Coast Sales manager and eventually took over Corporate Marketing & Advertising Responsibilities before retiring . As a result of Benjamin Moore’s customer base, I worked closely with independent stores for most of my professional career.
I also worked for a short time in designing & manufacturing retail displays. As you know I am currently retired.
A long time resident of Montvale, Louis is an External Affairs professional with community, economic development, and government relations experience. Louis served as the External Affairs Director for Verizon Communications. He also served as Chairman of the Greater Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, Vice-chairman of the Commerce and Industry Association, and President of the North Hudson Kiwanis Club. Additionally, Louis served on the St. Peter’s University board of regents, Hudson and Bergen county community college foundation boards, as well as several hospital boards in Hudson and Bergen counties.
